:: Obstructive Sleep Apnea Appliances

stentThe Lamberg Sleep-Well Appliance

Keeps the airway open by holding the jaw and tongue in a comfortable forward position while triggering a slight tightening of the soft tissues and muscles of the upper airway, especially the soft palate.

Ideal for a patient that is a bruxer, it allows up to 9mm of AP advancement and maintains constant protrusiveness via the patented Protrusive Element inserts. Its simple non-threatening design and easy to clean, easy to adjust convenience yield high patient compliance.

stentThe TAP® 3 Elite
Thorton Adjustable Positioner

The TAP® 3 Elite  appliance is a proven treatment modality for mild to severe OSA. It is currently being prescribed by over 7,000 dentists worldwide to cure snoring and sleep apnea. It has a technically simple design that attaches the upper and lower jaws together by utilizing a small hook and socket mechanism.

The single most distinguishing feature of the TAP® is that it can be adjusted by the patient while in the mouth by the use of a small detachable key until the lower jaw is brought forward enough to ensure the airway remains open during sleep. Once a comfortable degree of protrusion is achieved, the key is removed and the patient can completely close their mouth with the appliance inside. This unobtrusive, self adjustability is one of the reasons TAP® has a compliance rate of 95%.

Patients are empowered to manage the degree of lower jaw protrusion over as many nights as it takes to achieve the optimal effect comfortably. The fact that TAP® has a single point of adjustment prevents uneven bilateral adjustment which can create bite dysfunction.

stentRespire Blue Series
(Mandibular Dorsal Fin Appliance)

The Respire Blue Series is an aesthetic, functional Mandibular Repositioning Device available for your patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

The Respire Blue Series places the jaw in a position that maintains an open airway by preventing the lower jaw from falling back and collapsing the airway.

It combines functionality with fine protrusive adjustments and a 'Fin' that stays in place as the appliance is advanced. There is no anterior component to interfere with the tongue so it offers optimal comfort for your patients.

stentThe Crane Acrylic Herbst Appliance

"Adjustability" is the biggest advantage of the Crane Acrylic Herbst appliance. With this two piece construction the jaw is advanced into a forward position with an inseparable tube and plunger mechanism on the buccal surface of the upper and lower appliances. This unique design allows for additional advancement of the mandible if relief is not immediately achieved. The hinged mechanisms are designed with advancement screws to allow for titration and advancement of the mandible to the desired position. The advancement screws have a 5 mm range with an adjustment ratio of 16:1 or 16 quarter turns to one millimeter.

stent The EMA
(Elastic Mandibular Advancement)

The EMA is a custom fit appliance that will help treat your patients with obstructive sleep apnea. This appliance offers generous tongue room while keeping a low, but comfortable, profile.

This appliance works by opening the bite and gently advancing the mandible with interchangeable elastic straps to increase airway space. The elastic straps come in 9 different lengths and 4 different strengths. The shorter the EMA elastic strap, the farther the mandible is advanced. 36 different straps allow for the most effective repositioning with maximum comfort. The vertical and AP adjustments make it the ideal solution for patient advancement.

The EMA is made from a proprietary thermoplastic polymer that delivers superior impact strength to acrylic at a lower cost than polycarbonate.
